No. In Zazen, one observes the breath come in and go out. Nam is not given in Zen.

The word Zen is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the Middle Chinese word 'Chán' which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word 'dhyana' which can be approximately translated as "absorption" or "deep meditative state." the spiritual practice in Zen is called sitting Zazen which is a form of silent meditation emphasizing immobility and silence.
