Are animals (pets) allowed to enter the Gurdwara? If no, why not? Why should animals be refused the right to enter God's home, if all are welcome then they should be too? I have a bunny and I wanted to take him Gurdwara as it turns to the New Year as its his first (: so he isnt alone. It's not like he'd be let loose, kept in his carrier away from people. He wouldn't even have to enter the matha tek area, i'd sit in the hallway with him. Don't say animals shouldn't be allowed if you're someone who just dislikes them..

Nobody can answer this question except god or his messenger, any sant/mahapurkh.

Well, according to my perception, as i red jivaani sant baba nand singh ji (kaleran waale). Some animals have good karams who live near by religious places, as baba ji have explained life of many animals that were rescued from cycle by baba ji.

But still we cant make decision, regarding the entry of animals into gurudwara sahib.

  1. sangat disturbance.
  2. Animal may spread waste.
  3. Animal can't listen gurbani, understand, impliment and hence can't improve its life.

Exceptionally, there can be a situation where sant/mahapurkh can rescue some animal. But that is the decision of sant, we need not to worry about that.

Our Motive is to improve ourself. Leave the rest on god.

Dont know the conclusion, but still it may help.

Trust me, if you take your rabbit to the gurdwara people are going to tell you off for doing that and say that you cannot do that.

I have a pet dog and sometimes when I used to go to the gurdwara, I used to take my dog to the gurdwara and I would just leave him in the car and go to the gurdwara inside for a little time and these people at the gurdwara started harrassing me about it. They said you can't bring your dog here and bla blah blah.

I stopped going to that gurdwara, because these people were so rude to me and they even told me to sit outside the gurdwara if I wanted to have langar!

Alot of people go to the gurdwara and do non sikh things, which in turn makes me want to stop attending the gurdwara and doing sangat with such people.

I would just recommend that if you want to take your rabbit to the gurdwara, you can decide what you want to do but its better if you just pray at home with your rabbit around so that your rabbit can hear prayers from you. It is very likely that you are gonna get told off by these people at the gurdwara that you can't bring animals here and bla blah..so be prepared for it and if it happens, it will suck but that's what punjabis are like.

well according to me, they dont allow animals in gurdwara because they dont want any disturbance inside. since animals are free and have difference behaviors , they are not allowed to enter. just dont worry, its not your fault. I know you like and want to take your rabbit to gurdwara. and i also know the way they treat (bhai jis) people. What they think is that your rabbit may create disturbance or something. believe in karma. let the god deal with them.
