I agree, if you aren't prepared to take it and follow, don't. But if you feel ready, i think it is a good thing. People have a calling at different times in their lives that they feel ready, and you are fortunate if you feel the pull and feel it is time. The one time i am reluctant is when young children are doing it when they are feeling pressure or perhaps get excited about it for a short time, and don't really understand what this means for them when they get older to keep your rehat. But not everyone's age physically matches maturity and spiritaul age so i don't think there are absolute rules- some younger people are ready.
