I get extremely frustrated with Punjabi people . So I am someone who has a white sounding last name, and there are some Indians that have that , maybe from the Generations that did decide to convert to Christianity. That is besides the point , I am a Sikh, but my last name is not brar, sidhu , Dillon etc. i just have a differnet last name that I feel like it doesn't matter if I change it or not, because i am a Kaur , i am more Sikh than they are, i.e. I am vegetarian , do path every single day , don't cut my hair. Yet they always feel like the need to point it out or look at me strange and I feel excluded from them.

How do i deal with this , I have been dealing with this from a long time.

hey,you are not alone.do u feel like discrimantion by your own religion?its ok..some people such as me and you are knwn to be like this.my adviswe to u is that you should just stick up for yourself tell them .no one should be judging you we all maken mistakes so just forgive them and continue i often get people staring at me like how you are explaning it or ask them.is there anything bothering you if so plz tell me yr .one time i was denying eberything of myself bvut than i realise why m doing wrong i lwearn to fight for it.no one should judge you for whome u r or wht ur interests is.they r just jelous.or they may also feel awqard as they dnt knw how to react as wen u talk wit or pass them .they r proberly confuse anyone can be sikh. but just remeber theres always gonna be people getting inur way.just ignore them and do wht u cherish best and live up to an honest living!

You will face such people who will try to discourage you, pretend to be knowing more Sikhism than you, even laugh at you and some may even turn violent but you must be firm in your faith.

Being born in Punjabi Sikh family doesn't mean the person has got a Certificate to be called a true Sikh. My advise to you would be if possible and if you have White Sikh Sangat in your hometown then try to mingle with them. It's better to remain within the limited Sangat of pure souls than mingling with the majority and hence feeling alienated, excluded and frustrated.
