2016-10-01 14:53:29 -0500 | answered a question | Why Sikhs are in a mode of complete denial? If the discussion is about starting missionary work on sikhism I'm all for it. Let's take the responsibility on our shoulders of leadership for a better tomorrow and start giving 10% of our net income / dasvandh / tithe towards organisations like Basics of Sikhi. But then again, will we do it? Now this will be my personal opinion and I try to use a better way of communicating : Punjabi sikhs have one view of sikhi which they share on facebook and put words that guru like "Before following dharma, be a human" - Guru Nanak. However as you learn in school and university, you have to always check your sources when writing a scientific journal. Now what is our source in sikhism? Shri Guru Granth Sahib. Did guru nanak say that? No. Guru Nanak did not say that. Where are we getting our Sikhi from? - YouTube Sri Guru Granth sahib says other thing which breaks alot of these false ideas on what sikhism is to the punjabi sikhs. By preaching bani, sikh teachings and history , alot of them will abandon sikhi on what they thought sikhi was for their purposes and join other religions like christianity and consumerism. Punjabi Culture has today mutated from a culture on survivability to a mix of survivability and heavy influences of consumerism which made it to such a grotesque creature that wreck havoc in peoples lives, families and environment. It is all about consuming: Consuming family, friends, drugs, information, food, pleasures, religion and material things etc. And alot of punjabi youth have to choose between punjabi culture and the western culture of consumerism. Which is like Between a rock and a hard place. We have to give them a better alternative. One big problem facing us is Information consumption like Snapchat, whatsapp, social media etc. Information Constipation - YouTube Baljit Singh from Basics of Sikhi also have made a video which I can not find at the moment. Enough of my ranting. I am not going to write words, I will speak them with my actions by funding Basics of Sikhi and helping with the missionary parchaar stuff. And about sikh leadership. It has not been in power since Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee or SGPC was formed 150 years ago. But if the sangha choose you to become the next leader would you do it? Awakening to Leadership - YouTube I do not know if Jagraj Singh beef is with Jats but I think you do not have to worry about the Jats. Before speaking of that hot topic potato I just want to mention that I was born in the jat tribe and if I remember correctly Jagraj Singh himself is also born to the jat tribe. Not that it makes a difference since it seems like his research led him to make that assessment that outside forces used jat tribe own nature for their own purposes and the destruction that followed as we see today. Let us continue. This site 24x7 Non Stop Punjabi ... (more) |

2016-09-13 07:44:17 -0500 | answered a question | What to do about unwanted physical hairs? I have personally have gone through a surgery and the hair was removed where the surgery took place (throat). The reason it did not break Sikh Code of Conduct is because it will grow back by itself. It depends on the situation and intention. I understand where this question comes from. To follow gurus hukam on kesh seems rather stupid in this day and age, alot of young sikhs ask why? The only satisfactory answer I have been given is that I have to experiance the "why" when going into this Guru's way by myself. And many that do walk this way which the Gurus have written in our forehead, keep their kesh the last before taking amrit. Why has this same question asked as long as 17 years since this forum beginning? source Let me give you my perspective. Young sikh sons and daughters watch porn and social media which parents have no control over what their kids are watching on their parents cell phones. Young kids watch pornstars with no hair on their body and is subconsciously social conditioned to think that in order to have a happy and succesful life you have to look like a pornstar which also includes lack of body hair. Especially kids with no balance in their lives are affected by a much greater rate. Body hair is seemed as weed growing in a piece of land for farming. Like weed it has to be removed and farming terms are used as "manscaping". Basically, there are alot of videos on youtube on "sikhism + hair". Many find them unsatisfactory to their question about why keeping them. The only hukam I know of hair is Guru Gobind Singhs hukam that we should be distinguishable with keeping kesh and avoiding halal and hukkah. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Kurehat As you meditate more and develop your "spiritual disclipline" and you become more tuned in to yourself..you will find that you have changed of thinking and by automatically you will keep your hair on your body. Arguing about kesh or no kesh will be an endless discussion. My response to that is to be proactive instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXprNOMFxYg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y-fjk4uyX8 Good luck /Cloud |

2016-08-04 14:18:36 -0500 | commented answer | marriage against family? Your parents have made their decision. And you want to marry him. We can not affect our parents but we can affect our own reaction like I wrote in the "Do not worry playlist". Now your question "If he is not right for me then why did Baba G brought him in my life?" is a good question. |

2016-08-04 02:25:36 -0500 | edited answer | Intercaste marriage I will answer your question with a question. How will you convince your parents? The same parents that have been brought up in a family that believes very heavily about the caste system. That teaches their children that if you marry someone outside your caste the children will be casteless. I have answered same type of questions and these types of questions have been asked more then 16 years since this forum started. Here is an example :http://fateh.sikhnet.com/sikhnet/youth... Most people in your situation think like this: "Ok I will find someone with the same caste as me and when I find one they can not refuse because they belong to the same caste. That way my family will be happy and I will get the full support of the whole Family and society will see us as a legitimate couple. And not looked down on society for intercaste marriage like we are murderers. After I've done that sacrifice, I will make sure when my kids grow up as Amritdhari they will have the full support who they can marry as long as the center of that person is Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the person recognises Gobind as Father and Matha as Mother." So the answer is I have to find someone in my own caste for a problem free life and marriage? No. First you have recognize that you can never make your family happy whatever you do. There was a good video about that from Guruka Singh but I can not remember it at the moment. EDIT: Here is is. Blood Family and Spiritual Family Bhai Jagraj Singh has alot of good videos about this topic. Caste and UK Sikhs: why such a big deal? Right now just focus reconnecting yourself to Waheguru by concentrating on his name. How do I concentrate during Gurdwara? Good luck. WJKK WJKF /Cloud |
2016-08-04 02:15:42 -0500 | answered a question | marriage against family? First of all you should NOT do a court marriage. And before you show this answer to your friends let me tell you the reason I post the videos. If I did not post the videos the answers would be like a scientific journal long that would take more then 5 pages at least to write and that would be for most people to long to read. The solution is in the videos themselves if you care to watch for them. The first video: Where is my husband, guruka basically says: "If you do not know, do not marry" with more explenation. Your ability to worry all the time will disturb the process of the one the guru choose for you. How the worry process is hindering your marriage [Press "Play it"]: http://cueyoutube.com/#C3bIFu9kXKw,4UYYzbzGk6s,Ria1t15XgGw,sq7INkuMrh8, Second video: Your "boyfriend" is not your soulmate, your soul is. Once you start work on yourself with doing amritvela and start reading from your guru the sri guru granth. That boyfriend of yours will not go to the other side with you after death etc. With more explanation. Don't marry your boyfriend to get against your parents etc. That attractive boyfriend of yours will not look as attractive in 7 years etc. Third video: I'm aware that this video is told as the existance of kundli and manglik are not effecting the decisions of the parents involved but this video is still relevant. First it should be Paragatt (open). Do a hukumnama. The question your parents have to ask themselves is who is greater, the pandits wisdom or the guru when it does come to the hukumnama. Love comes and goes. The meaning of anand karaj is deeper then Namus or an alliance of two families for the survival for the next generation or by marriang upwards. The vidoes are relevant to your question. However, I will be using CUE Youtube list for future reference when answering so that answers will be more "compact". Im copying my answer from http://answers.sikhnet.com/question/9693/kundi-matching-manglik-dosha/ Now before we adress the issue of Manglik.
