I have committed very stupid sins in my life including lies about my health, when I was little I said I had pains I never had. I have told these lies to lots of people but now I feel so sorry inside and anxious whether God will forgive me or not. I have owned up to all of the lies and my friend and carer say they have forgiven me. I dont know why I told the lies and the guilt and anxiety is killing me and the thought of having to own up to these people who most of them didn't believe me anyway feels me with dread.

Dear Sofi,

Stop feeling guilty. Go ahead with your religious plans. Try to learn more about Sikhism and embrace this beautiful faith with full devotion. Stay in touch with your local Gurdwara and the Sangat.

WaheGuru Ji bless you.

Sofi, your Grand-Mom is correct, follow her instructions.

I think that you're thinking too much and making a mountain out of a mole-hill. Waheguru is so great, compassionate, merciful and ever-forgiving. One should be God loving instead of God fearing. Everyone makes mistakes, now that you have this realization and epiphany, feel sorry about your ignorance, let it go and forget. Just try to connect to God now with full devotion, love & conviction, and the best part is its never too late. So, please stop digging history or discussing past events. Let go of the past and embrace future, get a life. Thanks

WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa, WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh.

Wjkk wjkf,

hey sofi,

its nice to be hearing from you frequently.

look youve lied, and in the process youve fooled your self, and yes harmed your self

the question is :

CAN YOU FORGIVE YOURSELF?

its great that you have the guts to own up and tell the truth. many people do not. the best thing that you should do is tell the people it really matters to tell, and of course be responsible for what youve done.

When one repents the lord is ever forgiving.

Its time for you to have your cleen slate and do some healing.

listen to this it is called "azure salver" which is posh english for Blue-sky plate. this track is a translation of the Arrti. a prayer composed by guru nanak detailing how nature naturally worships god.

the root of your problem was ego and advancing in others minds you have nothing wrong with you, we all have ego problems here and there, but i guess its great that when your coming on to the path of sikhi that your ego is starting to be disolved.

Just apologise to God, and ask him to bless you with strength that from now onwards you stop lying.

We all commit mistakes, especially when were young. The best thing to do is just learn from your mistakes and carry on.

Do you think I need to own up to the people who believed me and didnt believe me about the dreams or just the ones who believed me? One of the people I told was the leader of a small Orthodox group in Israel nd he didn't believe me anyway and it caused a heated discussion and he was very cross with me. I know if I owned up to him I would only get negativity and not reconciliation from him as I don't talk to him now anyway. Do you think I need to tell the doctors about the lies about my health when I was 14? I'm 19 now so they were 5 years ago, my grandmother said I have harmed nobody except myself and she doesn't believe I have to own up to people that would not understand.

The question to ask yourself is: Who have I harmed? To whom have I caused pain? That is the only case an apology is necessary. Nihang 96K gave you a good answer. Don't worry about losing face and most of all, forgive yourself.
