wjkk wjkf

Yes This bani was written by the tenth guru

Its theme is sexual immorality and how those who have practised it are punished because of their karmas in the end. it has other themes aswell. it is a collection of common stories from the time which cover morality.

Guru ji wrote these stories down, but not all of them are his, he still compiled them though,

Does anyone know if there will be a sarbat khalsa tommrow ?

2015-11-09 04:10:28 -0500 answered a question Chand (Prithi Chand, Baba Sri Chand, etc.)

Hey bhagat,

In india surnames were never used in names chand is just part of the name. the clan name was a distinction. never used by the gurus because they refused the cast system. when we look at the forth guru and beyound (all gurus after this point were subsequently related) they are all called Sodhi Patshah as a title of authenticity.

In the Same way as Guru Gobind Rai (from the sodhi lineage)

ended the lineage factor and created the khalsa becoming

Guru Gobind Singh

Surnames are a modern invention.

ps. Please email me soon

2015-11-06 16:51:17 -0500 answered a question would a sikh with cut hair still be regarded a singh

The simple amswer is no,

one who is a sikh follows the teachings of the guru full stop. They do not have the rite to call them selves a SIKH let alone a SINGH.

If the great sikh mrtyrs were given the option to either have their hair cut or die why did they choose death?

because the kes (uncut hair) is the very symbol of our faith

in the ardass we say

"sikhi kesa swasa nal nibahi"

May all sikhs maintain their uncut hair aslong as they breath"

Sikhi isn't punjabi culture

sikhi isn't a namesake

2015-10-10 12:25:21 -0500 answered a question Will God forgive me?

Wjkk wjkf,

hey sofi,

its nice to be hearing from you frequently.

look youve lied, and in the process youve fooled your self, and yes harmed your self

the question is :

CAN YOU FORGIVE YOURSELF?

its great that you have the guts to own up and tell the truth. many people do not. the best thing that you should do is tell the people it really matters to tell, and of course be responsible for what youve done.

When one repents the lord is ever forgiving.

Its time for you to have your cleen slate and do some healing.

listen to this it is called "azure salver" which is posh english for Blue-sky plate. this track is a translation of the Arrti. a prayer composed by guru nanak detailing how nature naturally worships god.

the root of your problem was ego and advancing in others minds you have nothing wrong with you, we all have ego problems here and there, but i guess its great that when your coming on to the path of sikhi that your ego is starting to be disolved.

2015-10-10 12:10:39 -0500 answered a question Does God know what will happen before?

god is antarjami"

ever present and all knowing

2015-10-09 18:01:11 -0500 answered a question does one have to be amritdhari

Yes they do.

you are very worng

one is not a sikh if they have not taken amrit. without the amrit a "sikh" is nigurra, without a guru. they are without the formal administration of naam and mantar.

that "sikh" who is without amrit may serve but they do not yet walk the path of the guru.

Importance of Amrit

Amrit is the top institution of the Sikh faith. It is "Abae-Hayat" the water bestowing eternal life – eternity and immortality.

They become immortal by drinking Amrit of the Lord (Naam-Jaap), and vices lure them no more. 5-81-1 "ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਵਤੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨੁ ਫੀਕਾ ਜਾਨਿਆ" || ੫-੮੧-੧

Amrit has spiritual as well as, physical aspects. Spiritually speaking, Amrit is the Name of God and its recitation. Physically, it is a special drink, meant for the spiritual growth. The aim o recitation of the Name of God and of taking Amrit, is the same. Amrit is meant to put a fellow to Gurbani and Naam- Jaap (reading Scriptures and reciting His Name) – the path leading to God.

Taking "Amrit" is the cherished desire common both to the Guru and his Sikh. The Guru desires the disciple to take it, and one fully oriented to the faith, becomes keen to do so. Taking Amrit is the Sikh way of getting inducted into this faith. Drinking Amrit is a vow to live an elevated life and to do Naam-Jaap – recite God's nam

Guru Amar Das says, “The angelic persons and the silent sages search for the Divine Nectar. That Nectar I have obtained from the Guru.”

2015-10-09 17:58:43 -0500 answered a question Does the Sikh God have a personal name?

Yes Many names,

The guru tells us in jaap sahib,

"tav sarab naam kathe kavan, Karam naam barnat sumat"**

"None can truly express or give discourse on your names, it is by your actions that you are named the wise know this."

Similaraly the same is found in EXODUS 3:6 of the Torah/Bible

The Holy One, Blessed Be He, said to those, you want to know my name? I am called according to my actions. When I judge the creatures I am Elohim, and when I have mercy with My world, I am named YHVH Ex 3:6

The guru and God have given us

Waheguru

the force of extacy that drives one from the darkness into the light

this name waheguru is also a culmination of the different names for god through the 4 ages

*W*ashadev ( the one who pervades everywhere)

*H*ari ( the one who blossoms within)

*G*obind (the lord of all creation)

*R*aam (the giver of bliss)

but when we refer to god our names are very practical.

Akal = the timless one / beyound death and deteriation

Waheguru = the ofrce of extacy which drives us out of the darkness into the light

Akal Purakh = the timless being

Satnam = Whoes name is truth

Kartar= the creator

Har/ hari = the one who blossoms within the heart

May the lord bless you on your life journey

2015-10-07 15:40:13 -0500 answered a question Prayers doesn't work. I am fed up now

Salok, First Guru:

Suffering is the medicine, and pleasure the disease, because where there is pleasure, there is no desire for God.

Meditate on Naam and understand the innate nature. the cure is naam not a shopping list of your desires. Pain has been that medicine that has got you this far, but you have begun to fall into the deep shadow of ego and questioning the hukham of waheguru.

Dukh bhanjan tero naam ji" the ailment to pains is the naam

Sri harkrishan diyayae jis dithe sab dukh jaiye remembering the guru (harkrishan sahib ji) all pains vanish

Your ego has blinded you. Pray through the ardass not just by muttering what you want and if you dont know learn. Dont recite bani just for the sake of it or thinking that 100 japjis wil get you a boon.

meditate on the lord with full conciousness and love, know what you are praying. seek shelter in the prayers of Benti chaupai and the lines of bani i have provided.

Please email me: [email protected] for more guidence.

Sikhi is a path to be fully practised not just enterd into.

man baychai sat guru ke pass, tis sevak ke karaj rass

"Selling the mind to the guru, the servant reaps the benefit and experiences the flavour."

This is the correct meaning. its replacing manmat with gurmat. not imitating the guru but receiving the teachings of the guru and following them.in this way gurmat comes and manmat goes.

meditate and vibrate on naaam
