which sikh guru stuck/tide his beard, like half the sikhs today do? i dont recollect any!!! then why do sikhs stick/tie thier beard, to blend in ?

To look glamorous, today's educated yet traditional Sikh men roll up and tie their beards nicely.
The Sikh Code of Conduct doesn't stops any Sikh from keeping their beards gelled or tied-up.
Sampooran Keshadhari Sikh men have long beards which they find quite difficult to keep it open flowing the reason they are into different professions which demands being neat and tidy.
Women especially from the sub-continent do not find Sikh men attractive until and unless the Sikh men are smartly dressed with their beards properly gelled, and sporting a matching turban with the dress.
So, those Sikh men who stick or tie their beards there's absolutely nothing wrong in it.
To be honest with you I don't know who started that trend and why they follow it. None of the gurus had their beards tied up. If you are a doctor, dentist or any occupation that if you have your beard not tied up it is a safety hazard then yes tie up your beard but only for work. Maybe the reason why people tie up their beard is because they want to fit in with the others, when the gurus made us stand out, they made it so that if you look in a crowd of hundreds or thousands of people you would be able to spot a sikh from miles away because, the gurus gave us an identity. This may not be the best answer, hope this helped.

The gurus never said people aren't allowed to tie their beards. They also didn't say we can't wear runners or drive cars. It is a personal choice and there is nothing wrong with. Many people believed that during early Sikh battles some Singh warriors would tie back their beards. I'm not sure about this. However, I still think it is very easy to see a Sikh even if their beard is tied back. Maybe people think it looks neater, or it is easier to manage. These are both valid points, I think. Maybe they just want to.
I know Sikhs in modern militaries have to keep their beards tied back in case of chemical weapon usage. This allows them to apply wax and gas masks more easily. However, the formal tradition started during British India as part of uniform standards, so it became mainstream around the late 1800s. You will notice in many pictures of this era that many men would tie back their beards. It may have been the majority of men did this.
