When we go to Gurudwaara should we keep hopes on God to fulfill a desire ?

Whenever a person keeps hope in something, he will be disappointed if the desire is not fullfilled ?

So is it correct to not keep hope in God but just be grateful for something good in life instead .

"Give up all other hopes, and rely on the One Hope. Those who serve the True Guru receive a place in the world hereafter. || 1 || O my mind, praise the Creator. Give up all your clever tricks, and fall at the Feet of the Guru." - Guru Arjan (ANG 43)

"Remain free of hope, in the midst of hope, and you shall cross over. By Guru’s Grace, one comes to understand himself; in this way, he remains dead while yet alive." Guru Nanak (ANG 935)

Things are not good or bad except that thinking makes it seem so. Live beyond hope.

"Ketia dukh bukh sadh maar eh be dat teree dataar." Then you can live very happily. Then, there is no conflict left. There is no ego heard. Then you can never become a victim of depression. Then you can slide through desh (space) and kaal (time).
