As the World population is around 8 Billion and we have problem of Unemployment,polluted air,water,rivers.Is finding other Earth like Planets in Space is the only option left ?
Our main "issue" is that everyone is now living longer. Where a long time ago (aprrox. 100 years ago), the average lifetime expectancy was 30 years of age across the world. That has now changed and we are living up until 89 years.
Space is an option, however how we accommodate this in an overpopulating world is the real issue needing to be addressed.
A possible answer to your question is YES, the population could reach that number.
We have no idea what's going to happen on this planet. Some of that is up to us and some of it is not. Most of our options are unknown to us at this time.
