Consumed is just another way of saying destroyed, veerji. Ego takes over them completely, and I guess it is another state of conscious because everything is fake but Him.

2013-12-06 17:49:13 -0500 answered a question Doing good is causing me problems

You sow what you reap. If you be nice to everyone you will get the benefits in the future (this life or the next ones). Those who take advantage of you, are only building up bad karma and they will have to pay for it. Try not to get mad, that is Krodh which leads to Ego. Leave them alone, do not do anything, because He controls everything and His laws run everything. He will take care of it all.

2013-11-28 17:06:56 -0500 answered a question Does honoring someone?

No, honouring someone does not mean you agree with them. Say you honour your dad a lot and he says something, you can express your opinion for what you think is right. You can honour them (so give them a lot of respect), but that doesn't mean you agree with them all the time.

2013-11-27 17:26:50 -0500 answered a question Don't lose yourself

Baba Guruka Ji could answer this much better, but in my understanding Maya is simply something to use and then let go when you are done(death). The problem is, people get lost in Maya and get attached. You can enjoy Maya, but treat it as a commodity, and do not get lost. Maya is everything that is perishable. So how can you not come in contact with it?

2013-11-27 17:20:36 -0500 answered a question Sister and mother

We are taught to look at women as daughters, sisters, and mothers so we do not get any lustful thoughts, or worse, commit a sinful deed. Meet Ji, you basically answered your own question.

2013-11-07 20:10:29 -0500 answered a question manmukh or gurmukh?

Manmukh is someone who follows his selfish mind. He is controlled by the Five Vices and is a slave of Maya. He does not follow the True Path. Examples of manmukhs are all around you. Anyone who does not follow the Truth is a manmukhs. A gurmukh is the complete opposite. He follows the Gur and the Guru. He operates under direct control of the Param Jyot. Maya is his slave. He follows the True Path. Examples of gurmukhs are Sants, Braham Gyanis, etc. Anyone who has realized Akal Purakh. Gurmukhs speak the Truth, serve the Truth, do the Truth, and are the Truth. Baymukhs are people who turn back on the Gur and the Guru. For example, a baymukh is someone who meets a Puran Sant, follows them, gets blessed, but turns back on them and starts to slander the Puran Sant. Once a baymukh does this he is immediately deprived of his spirituality. He can not even be forgiven by God himself. Only the Sant has the authority to forgive him, and that is when the baymukh realized what great sin he has committed. There is another type of person too, a Sanmukh. A sanmukh is someone who was like a baymukh, but realized his mistake and asked for forgiveness. A sanmukh walks back to the Gur and Guru. He starts following the Truth again.

Please forgive me for any mistakes and if I hurt anyone's feelings.

Satnaam

2013-10-19 17:45:57 -0500 asked a question To bow or not to bow

We are taught not to bow to anyone or anything other than the Guru Granth Sahib. I am in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to this. My parents have put me in mixed martial-arts (taekwondo) so I can learn how to fight. In taekwondo, you have to bow to your instructor, the assistant instructors, masters, senior belts, etc. We have to bow to them, otherwise, you get into deep trouble. I don't know what to do because we are not allowed to bow to anyone other than the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but I have to bow to others in my taekwondo. Please help this worthless Sikh.

2013-10-13 20:46:41 -0500 answered a question Scheming ..

Dear Meet Ji,

Scheming in my view is planning to do something to someone that is not right, to hurt them or such. For example, if I was scheming something I wanted to do to my brother, I would be most likely mad at him or I would not be happy with him.

If there is mistakes or I have hurt someone in this answer, I ask for forgiveness, as I am very young.

2013-10-13 13:53:34 -0500 edited question Is the Phal (benefit) of listening and reciting Naam the same?

I was just wondering if when I listen to Naam, do I get the same rewards are when I recite it? For instance, there is an Amolak Bachan that says if you do 3600000 mool manter, you become Jivan Mukt. If I listen to the mool manter, is it the same as reciting it?
