Our Guru, sometimes called Adi Granth, is full of the gurus saying that they dont read the Vedas, Puranas, etc. which I take to mean that being intelectual hardly helps you merge with god. Why then in the Dasam Granth does Guru Gobind Singh Ji write about events from the Puranas and other hindu texts???

I mean no disrespect.
