Waheguru ji ka Khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh,

I would appreciate your comments on my dilemma. I was born in a Sikh family but did not really follow Sikhi except going to the Gurdwara as a social event on Sunday's. I married a Hindu some 15 years ago. We have children. In the last 5 years I have been pulled towards Sikhi and started making changes to my life....stopped social drinking and became a vegetarian. 2 years ago I stopped colouring my hair and stopped removing any hair. I have got into a routine of praying in the morning. I feel ready now to take the next step . I have been told by some people that I cannot become Amrit dhaari as my husband and children are Hindu. Any views??
