I want to be celibate. I have a hard to control sex drive with lots of lust and I would have trouble in a married relationship. I want to adopt a child one day, but for now is it okay for me as a sikh to be celibate?

You say "I would have trouble in a married relationship." Why, because you have a lot of lust? But Sikhs are householders. The Guru lives in cozy homes. The entire world is carried on the back of householders. The Grist Ashram is the highest ashram. So... why not deal with what is blocking you? Our Gurus gave us a lifestyle of monogamy. That means your job is to understand, confront and deal with your lustful nature, not to go through life saying, "Well, I did that because I am a lustful guy."
