Are Sikhs allowed to remove body hair ?

Can we remove non Facial hair , as in armpit etc for hygienic purposes ?

What if your spouse tells you to, or else the marriage won't work then what should one do ?

Why do that? Our lifestyle is simple - we leave our bodies as originally created and do not alter them. "Hygienic purposes" translates to me as, "to look more attractive." It's just vanity.
