Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh

According to my understanding taking amrit is a committed relation with Guru. (Like adopting kid or getting marriage relation). So by taking amirt you will be accepting Guru Gobind Singh ji as your father. Guru has some marayada. So to keep strong relation with Guru you have to follow all marayada. There should be excitement not scared to become daughter of Guru. If you feel you are ready for doing nitnem every day and control your mind from kaam (lust), krodh (rage), lobh (greed), moh (attachment) and ahankar (pride), then you can go for amrit. There is no specific age for amrit. Amritvela is between 3 am to 6 am.

Kakars have some purpose, so please first understand the purpose of each kakar. For example: kirpan has purpose to defend if there is need. But if someone have small kirpan without proper grip or kirpan as necklace then what is the use of that. That is just ritual to keep kirpan. We can stop or defend against hate crime, crime again women and many more crimes, if we keep proper kirpan then Guru will bless us with power. At the time of bath you can keep kirpan close enough so if there is need you can approach quickly. At sleep time you can put kirpan under your pillow.

According to me amritdhari women can wear appropriate dresses and shorts, which are not too much show off. Sikhi is very straight and simple path, once your mind understands true meaning and convinced with it then it is easy to follow otherwise burden.

Find your true identity in naam and live accordingly not what other wants to see. True beauty is inside not outside. Your smile and pure mind are true ornaments.

God bless you.
