My condolences.

let pain be your medicine. always the answer to most questions is meditation and doing sewa. but you have to find own reasons to do it, in this case the least destructive path that will make your pain better would be to pray to god, instead of turning to negative things. life isn't a box of chocolates but making a relationship with god makes life go smoother (this concept is discussed in shri guru granth sahib says over and over again). and seek friends to share feelings with. and keep yourself a little busy.
