It is good to cover head all the time but its is not a punishment if you feel some time to take relax at home.but while eating and reciting gurbani it is necessary to cover head.sar is not allowed .if you have to go sepecial funtion u can do light makeup too. Sikhi is not a punishment to girls or kids too. Kids have to play games too.
