Gurmat doesn't tell you to run away from your duties,your wife,your children etc but says you to remember Waheguru in the middle of everything and everyone.Look if you give 1\10th of your time ie. 2hours 40 minutes to the Guru by doing paath,seva,naam japana,meditation or anythiing which connects you to God then you are free for 22hours and 20 minutes for doing your duties in which ofcourse you should be aware of God's presence.Gurmat says that you should be mad for money etc but should be in love for Waheguru in your heart rest of the things are impermanent or temporary in life.By knowing this you will be happy in this life and will also win in the court of lord.
