There comes a stage in spiritual growth when duality falls away and everything is seen to be One. The wheel of samsara turns through millions of lifetimes, but the hub of the wheel, the still center, is always there. The saint lives with one foot on the hub and one on the rim of the wheel, able to shift his "weight" back and forth as the moment demands. It's not Union vs. Samsara. It's Union in the midst of samsara. One cannot "find" God. One can only connect to God within oneself through Naam. I don't attribute motives to Naam Dev Ji. His journey was a journey of love. Even if you spend a lifetime (or many) in renunciation, you will still have to incarnate as a householder since one must learn how to fulfill all earthly duites within the gariste ashram. The entire world rests on the back of the householders.
