waheguru ji Khalsa, waheguru Ji ki fateh

I really want to know how to tell if people are believing in black magic. I saw my father wearing a light grey thin ribon around his left arm and a thin white ribbon around his waist... Also my brother has been scared a lot lately, as in he will wake in the middle of the night crying and yelling for help. He can't sleep alone and he has a constant fear of being in public and meeting new people. My grades an hes lowered a lot since we realized my dad belives in this stuff, but we are not entirely sure about it. That's basically why I posted this question. Ou lives have been starting to be dificult in a certain way. And I don't know what to do. Plz help me and thank you
