One of the 'Sikh way of life' is to share one's good fourtune (money). I want to know if it is fine to doante towards animal welfare?

Yep thats perfectly fine.
Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Guru Har Rai Ji, really cared for animals giving the medicine and helping them heal.
Guru Hargoind Sahib Ji, would always give his first roti to birds and then he would eat. Also I think Guru Har Rai Ji set up an animal hospital.
