How will you convince your parents?
The same parents that have been brought up in a family that believes very heavily about the caste system. That teaches their children that if you marry someone outside your caste the children will be casteless.

Most people in your situation think like this:
"Ok I will find someone with the same caste as me and when I find one they can not refuse because they belong to the same caste. That way my family will be happy and I will get the full support of the whole Family and society will see us as a legitimate couple. And not looked down on society for intercaste marriage like we are murderers.
After I've done that sacrifice, I will make sure when my kids grow up as Amritdhari they will have the full support who they can marry as long as the center of that person is Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the person recognises Gobind as Father and Matha as Mother."
So the answer is I have to find someone in my own caste for a problem free life and marriage?
No.
First you have recognize that you can never make your family happy whatever you do. There was a good video about that from Guruka Singh but I can not remember it at the moment.
