Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh! We even pray for Nishan Sahib in our ardaas. Our Nishan flies high so people know they can come to that spot to be cared for - to find food, shelter, protection and inspiration. It is a sign of the Guru's presence.

Miri and Piri are realms. It is the same concept as sant saphi (saint soldier.) Miri is the earthly realm (karam khand) and Piri is the spiritual realm (akash.) As Sikhs of the Guru we are a sovereign Khalsa Spiritual Nation in both realms, the physical world and the spiritual world.
