I believe it is perfectly fine - if you're doing it for the right reasons. If you're stuck in a situation that has agonized you for some time or something, I would reccomend doing it. I have done it, and it has helped me. Don't do because you think it'll be fun, though it is. Do it for god-realization. Don't pay money to have some fake psychic tell you or something. Do it at home. Lots of videos on youtube.

It is made up by the mind, which doesn't exist anyway, only waheguru (the hand) and the souls (the fingers, parts of videos on youtube.the hand).
