2020-02-24 10:44:33 -0500 answered a question How do i stop this mindset???

Well whenever the thought comes to your mind think of the consequences.

If you become pregnant at 19 your life is over, you are a single mom, Very hard to raise a kid since you have no career growth. Basically you will ruin your life. Same thing is with drugs . you are feeling this mindset because you have high amount of estrogen produced in your body biologically at this age.

This might be different for different people, but most cases it isn't

2020-02-21 11:23:04 -0500 answered a question When we make "sukhnaa", do we fullfill it after it's granted? How's it usually done, like if anyone else has done it? Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana did during Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji time.

A person is supposed to love God,

A person who just remembers God in time of need and overlooks when his favor is completed

is just a merchant who trades with his good deeds. Such a person might get what he wants but not happiness

2020-02-21 11:20:34 -0500 answered a question What is "Sopurkh" shabad paath for?

The real meaning of Gurbani is to become detached, If you keep your self detached to your husband. If he stays or leaves you will just not feel any sadness.

Detachment means to understand happiness and sadness are just emotions produced by mind and not get carried away with it and give them permanent place in your mind.

2020-02-21 11:12:52 -0500 answered a question What exactly would be considered "Gur Seva" serving the Guru? How can we do do Guru ki seva nowadays?

Guru ki Seva is helping the poor. Waiting in a queue for 1 year in Golden Temple is not really Guru ki seva.

Guru ki Seva is :

taking care of your old parents.

Donating money to poor and honest people.

Donating money For Langar to Gurudwaras which are underdeveloped. Everyone wants to make his offering to the biggest Gurudwara.

Doing things that rid you of your pride.

Donating money to handicapped. etc.

Most important point is to remember never to keep expectation for reward, or else what ever you do is wasted.

2020-02-21 11:05:34 -0500 answered a question If someone did us bad and Karma takes care of everything, then we wouldn't need "Court", law and order in society?

Karma might happen in the same life or next.

Law is to make sure something happens in the same life, to prevent economy from collapsing.

2020-02-21 11:04:16 -0500 answered a question If we do paath around 8:30AM-9:00 AM, it's not "Amrit Vela", but do we get same benefits?

Human mind is weakest between 3:30 - 5 am .

Whatever you do at that time, will become your character, If you are hungry at Amrit Vela you will wake up and eat,

If your family member is sick you will take care at that time.

But you cannot get up to do paath because you give lower priority to it , simple.

2020-02-21 11:00:40 -0500 answered a question Can we recite "Mool mantar" while laying in bed?

2020-02-21 10:59:59 -0500 answered a question If you go to Hindu temple and not necessarily bow down to "devi, devte" but sit down in pooja and pray to One Supreme Formless God, is that acceptable or sin?

When you bow down, you are just bowing down to a stone, which is not a sin, its just an activity that yields no result. you can find any stone outside.

2020-02-21 10:37:47 -0500 answered a question Sex before marriage for a divorced lady?

This has nothing to do with Sikhi or religion :

At age 30 a woman body is perfect to have a kid. hence she starts feeling the urge to have more sex.

Have sex with him if you both really like each other (first make sure you really like each other), if he leaves you it will be less damage than leaving you after marriage. But this doesn't mean you keep having sex with everyone before marriage.

Why are you looking for Gurbani on this use your common sense. At that time there was no concept of Divorce, as people simply didn't had the law to divorce, if you are stuck with some guy you are just stuck. So there is no provision for what happens after divorce, people used to get married at 13 years and stay like that. you cannot use some laws from 500 years ago to justify your current situation

2020-02-14 09:23:25 -0500 answered a question What exactly is God?

Is God just some form of energy ? -> Yes , “Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.”

Also if the God how most people perceive as is true, then y can’t prayers come true ? -> People do mistake of keeping high hopes on God, and when their wishes don't come true they lose faith and become sad, problem is in people keep expectation. Prayers sometimes are fulfilled sometimes not.

If prayer is just a projection then you r not really praying to God Ur just seeing it in ur own mind or whatever. -> Your mind is like water, like water takes the shape of the jug it is put in, mind takes the shape of what ever you keep thinking with it everytime, Prayer is tuning your own mind for your own good to see and live in reality. People do all things in life to get the feeling of happiness, If you really get connected you will feel the same happiness a person gets by buying a new car with just sitting at home and praying.

Then what difference does it make to believe or not believe in God -> Don't think of God as Christians think of it and portray, God is called Akaal in Sikhism, Akaal is something that doesn't live in realm of time. Time destroys everything visible, it turns mountain to dust, planets stars even galaxies to dust. In all this destruction there is something immortal that apparently contains all and contained inside everything that takes birth and dies. Nanak: the only thing that is not destroyed by time is true (Akaal).

There is no strict religion kind of thing, A person who does things to others what he doesn't want himself to happen is on the wrong path no matter how religious he appears, very simple. If you see Indian politicians they appear most religious and simple, but you know... Only 4 things you need to be religious -> altruism , contentment, integrity and humility.

2020-02-10 22:15:53 -0500 answered a question Why do we feel guilty ?

If you think that totally abstaining from lustful activites Someone might be impressed and you will be rewarded later, that would be foolish.

However if lustful activities take control of you, and you want it everytime, you cannot control yourself anymore, you will just become like an animal who has no control and moreover you will have mental pain, as now your dopamine level is too high and you it has to stay high for you to feel normally happy.

This is what happens to a drug addict too its your body, your mind and your choice

2020-02-10 13:28:54 -0500 answered a question How to meet & merge with Akal Purakh Waheguru

You can put effort to meet him, but will not succeed.

If he is impressed by your good Karma he will show himself to you.

So all you can do is do good without expectation of reward

2020-02-10 12:37:25 -0500 answered a question I have spiritually and mentally digressed

You should tell your problems to a stranger , and notice how he doesn't care and will laugh at it

Just like that you should also react to your own problems if you overthink or compare yourself with others you will lose the way and become depressed.

Put your effort on your mind not on external events , you dont have control over the latter

2020-02-10 12:33:22 -0500 marked best answer Is there any reason why this is not free ?

I saw a very informative video about real Sikhism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-1UA...

He credits to Sikhnet Guru Granth Sahib English translation at 17:36 ,

My only question is, Is there any reason that it costs $21.81 and is not free ? I mean if its related to cost of effort then probably crowd can fund that cost and make it free.
