why not cut hair? why cut nails? -> Gurmukhs follow Guru ji's instructions as his command. Gurmukhs never keep doubt in his Heart. otherwise, one will fail to connect with God. understand the Hukam. everything happening is God's will. Gurmukhs should not think life of Past & future, meaning What has happened & What will happen? Live the Present life accept the Hukam (Bana).

Historically, i read it somewhere can't point out to you but its true. Mugals forced Hindi People (People of India) to cut their hairs so mugals can grow hair as unique identity to themselves. Mugals commanded that no King will play Ranjit Nagara (Drum of Victory), whenever they won battle.

When Guru Gobind Singh Ji won in defense his first battle when returned to Anandpur Sahib, He commanded to play Ranjit Nagara (Drum of Victory).

Guru Gobind Singh was famous for wearing a Kalgi on his own turban. Because it was another command of mugals that no one will ever wear Kalgi on his Crowns.

You can read whole Historical event in Guru Granth Sahib as Shabad about Bhagat Namdev Ji: some important points. when Bhagat ji was arrested by King and forced to him to say Allah's name...

Bhagat's Mother-> Why don't you abandon your Lord Raam, and worship his Lord Allah? Naam Dev answered-> I am not your son, and you are not my mother.

He further tried to convince his mother by stating, "When I repeated Allah's name, it is by my own free will, my inner self's wish. For me, God is one whom people remember through varied names. However, I will not surrender to a royal decree to remember God by this particular Name and not by any other Name. I shall not say so under the emperor's order, even if I may say the same thing of my own free will." To Namdev, it was a question of freedom.

Our Guru and Bhagats are basically Freedom Fighters,. one who disciplines it in his life, cross over the terrifying world of ocean.

Future Hair gives beauty and protect our body in many ways, whereas nails are wastage and if broken accidentally its very painful.

Hairs for Gursikhs are Stamp of Guru saying his my Sikh.

WaheGuru ji ka Khalsa WaheGuru ji ke Fateh..hai!

Q. what is meditation to you & Can you describe the experience of it? a: Meditation of Naam; is the method to conquer our Maan(Mind). By taking Amrit from Five GurSikhs in Gurudwara with Rehat. Five GurSikhs gives us Gurmantre i.e,. WaheGuru. The Creator Lord God has created this world; we live in is called Maya. Our Mind is filled with this five thieves also called as evil. The group of five evils comprises Kam (lust), Krodh (rage), Lobh (greed), Moh (attachment) and Ahankar (ego) in Punjabi; translated into English these words mean lust/addiction, wrath/rage/anger, materialistic greed, attachment/worldly infatuation and ego/pride. It is the primary aim of the practising Sikh to subdue these five inner evils and render them useless. The actions of one's mind should be above, beyond and without interference from these five inner urges. It's a Sikh's duty to not base their life subject to these five passions of the human heart. To live a life in devotion to the Almighty Waheguru in positive Spirits (Chardikala) and in His Mercy (Hukam). To remember God in Naam Simran, engaged in community service (Sewa) and to practise the Five Virtues. By taking these positive steps, the Five Evils are overcome and rendered ineffective. By adopting this daily routine and discipline the person's actions become pure (Nirmal) and rewarding to the soul and the negativity of the person is removed. (Wikipedia: Five Thieves notes)

Panj vikar separate us from Lord God, by reciting of Waheguru, Waheguru, Waheguru; and not thinking about this panj vikar in Mind by concentrating and Listening to Naam only, we connect us with WaheGuru. This is the true meaning of WaheGuru.

Yoga is for Body only, Naam is for Mind. Yoga only makes you healthy and does nothing more but only by meditating Naam, you meet with Lord God.

Q. How often do you meditate & Do you always meditate the same way? a. GurSikh must Meditate recite Gurmantre & Nitneem Banis between 3 a.m to 6 a.m daily. Nitneem means Daily Payers.

When Guru Nanak Dev ji had finished, a voice was heard: "O Nanak, to him upon whom My look of kindness resteth, be thou merciful, as I too shall be merciful. My name is "Parmeshwar" (God), the primal Brahm, and you are "Parmeshwar Guru" (Divine Guru).

i.e,. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is neither God nor Human-Being. He is universal Divine Guru.

2014-01-06 21:59:29 -0500 answered a question Do we sikhs believe in black magic?

lets acknowledge this first; Whole universe is made up of 5 elements; Space, Earth, Fire, Air & Water; Human Body is made of 5 elements; Only One God is the creator (Oangkaar is the one of uncountable Names of Lord God). God is Fearless, God has no hate. God is timeless, meaning God created Space (universe, galaxy, milky galaxy all are inside Space). i.e., God created time (also space time). God is not only inside space but reality is Space is inside God.

without space where will you keep sun, earth, our body etc. (u got my point?)

What was; before space / before GOD)? ans: nothing/none/nada. (no elements) Everything Starts from one God. (Proved by Guru Nanak Dev ji @ bagdad)

Most important life lesson Guru ji teaches us to:

hukam rajaaee chalanaa naanak likhiaa naal |1| O Nanak, it is written that you shall obey the Hukam of His Command, and walk in the Way of His Will. ||1||

hukamee likhai sir laekh vin kalam masavaaneeai | He writes the inscription of His Hukam on the foreheads of all, without pen or ink.

eihu maarag sansaar ko naanak thir nehee koe |51| This is the way of the world, O Nanak; nothing is stable or permanent. ||51||

jo oupajiou so binas hai paro aaj kai kaal | Whatever has been created shall be destroyed; everyone shall perish, today or tomorrow.

kahu naanak karathae keeaa baathaa jo kish karanaa s kar rehiaa |2| Nanak speaks the stories of the Creator Lord; whatever He is to do, He does. ||2|| (Lord God never ask our permission or Discusses with us)

naanak har gun gaae lae shaadd sagal janjaal |52| O Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and give up all other entanglements. ||52||

sathiguroo kaa oupadhaes sun thoo hovai thaerai naalae | Listen to the Teachings of the True Guru - these shall go along with you.

Nitneem Bani's must be recited Loudly and listen to it before 6am. Why this is happening with us. we have not done anything bad (no bad deeds in this life form) in this incarnation. We may not have done any that Bad Karam (Deeds) but in past incarnation, we may have done;

"but with very good Fortunate(Good Karam) we have found true Guru" anandh bhaeiaa maeree maaeae sathiguroo mai paaeiaa | I am in ecstasy, O my mother, for I have found my True Guru.

sathigur th paaeiaa sehaj saethee man vajeeaa vaadhaaeeaa | I have found the True Guru, with intuitive ease, and my mind vibrates with the music of bliss.

sunathae puneeth kehathae pavith sathigur rehiaa bharapoorae | Pure are the listeners, and pure are the speakers; the True Guru is all-pervading and permeating.

What is this Hukum; (Guru Angad dev ji said;) Things that are happened/happening are his Hukum (Command) That also includes Karma.

hukamae karam kamaavanae paeiai kirath firaao | According to the Lord's Command, people perform their actions; they wander around, driven by the karma of their past actions.
