2013-11-01 06:54:57 -0500 | answered a question | why do sikhs do perkarma around Guru Granth Sahib ji? I am not sure if I am correct as per the sikh maryada, But I will like to share my views on this. Going around the guru means sacrificing yourself to the guru. So when we do the parikarma, it reflects that I sacrifice my everything to my guru. Its a common tradition in India saying - vaare jaana. Like you bow your head to the guru to show respect, it is the same way. Please correct me If I am wrong. WJKK WJKF |
2013-11-01 06:26:00 -0500 | answered a question | Change lifestyle towards Sikhi. I have the same question, but my situation is a bit different. I am a working lady with a baby. So I get home quite late in the evening, its not actually possible for me to sleep this early and specially with a small baby to take care of, I could not sleep early. However, I too want to wake up at amrit wela, but then I feel tired the entire day and can not concentrate on the work. Just to confirm if its right or not, I do my nitnem after 12 in the night as the next day starts. As I can not wake up in the morning, doing the nitnem before sleeping and after midnight, does this be considered as the amritvela? |
