2013-09-17 09:38:33 -0500 answered a question why women does not perform ritual duties in Darbar Sahib..Amritsar?

sat nam,

You never see women performing any rituals in golden temple or any historical gurudwara because at guru's time, women weren't taught anything related to this. They just used to do sewa in langar hall which we even say today.. And that's what Guru taught us.. I don't think we do any good if we go against it. Let it be this way. You cant go against what guru has said. Its better if it stays this way otherwise the result wont be a good one. Hope this helped.

Dear friend, Unfortunately, your prayer means nothing. when you are not a good sikh , then god has nothing to do with you. As the line says ' rehat piyaari mujhko, sikh pyaara nahe ' which means that the god likes the person who goes on the right path , the path that guru has told him to follow and not the one who is just born in a sikh family and prays allday but is actually drinking alcohol or smoking pots! May god help you to leave such such a bad habit. Harsh words but true!

the line is ' jio kasturi mirg na jaane..' (kasturi - musk)

2013-09-10 06:48:22 -0500 answered a question What is the fragrance of an enlightened soul?

Dear Anonymous,

the fragrance of the ambrosial divine name of god is so sweet and engrossing that its aroma is incomparable. It surpasses the fragrance of sweet smelling earthly objects like musk, sandalwood and other aromatic essences. all the foul smelling passions within the heart are changed to fragrant feeling in the soul of one who meditates on the divine name. it however does not that he who contemplates the divine name loses all sense of discrimination between sweet and foul smell. His powers are like those of other human being with such a spiritual aroma that no foul smell can reach his inner senses. Like Guru Ram Das said in Rag nat, pg 982 : 'like a dear, man wanders in the wilderness attracted by enchanting fragrance, not knowing that the aromatic sweet smell comes from the musk within the body.' I hope this helped Waheguru jio!

Blessings,

That's something that nobody knows. Because nobody has them except god. All the powers which exist in this world are with god.

2013-09-09 06:03:10 -0500 answered a question Afraid of praying

Before going to sleep, do the bani - kirtan sohila.. it forms a protective shield around you and the guru himself guards you at that time but remember there is a warning. Don't do this bani after 12 midnight or at any time of the day.It is meant to be done only before you sleep.

2013-09-07 07:16:06 -0500 answered a question what should I do

Dear Gurpreet,

What all you need is an example. Take my example! I was 8 when I took amrit. Many people think that at such an age it could have been my parents who would have forced me to do so but, its not true. It was my wish to take amrit. None of my family members were amritdhari. I don't know from where this thing came into my mind but whatever it was, I loved it. Nobody allowed me to do so at first. I would just just see the amritdhari people and argue with my mum that why cant i be like that? At last, When I came into 1st grade after compelling my parents so much , they allowed me to take amrit. what all I want to explain is that do something yourself. You cant take it easily , fight for it! I was just 8 but you are 18! Can you see the difference? Only ardaas cant help. Do the ardaas and try yourself. If waheguru will want to you to be amritdhari, if it is there written in your life , you will get it. Hope I helped.

you kidding me? Do you really believe in such stuff? ..thats crazy! nothing like that exists. What happpens to you is what is written by god for you. You are a charactor of a story, your life is your novel and god is the writer. You cant predict what he has decided for you in future. There is no such thing as bad luck

2013-09-03 04:17:19 -0500 answered a question My Little Sister

first of all, the only problem that I can figure out is your bad habits. Let me tell you one thing, nobody is perfect and that is something that we know from kindergarten! You don't have to feel bad about yourself just because of some bad habits. Everybody has them. But, improving is something that you can do. The only thing you can do is improve. And, if you want to find a solution about that sister thing.. dear, it is within you. The solution is inside you. think deeply and find it. What is the thing that make you feel jealous about you sister? Find it and work on it. Hope it helps.

2013-09-01 07:19:23 -0500 answered a question worldly evil getting to me

dear anonymous,

Sat Nam

These temptations are a part of living as a khalsa. That's the only reason why we call this era as the era of 'kalyug'. It came to Guru Nanak by taking a form of human and said,'Guru Nanak, I am a saint too. I have done so much sadhna. What will you give me?' To this Guru Nanak Dev ji replied,'I give you the power to control the people who don't consider themselves as guru's child or who don't do the banis , don't walk on the path that guru has told them.' This was just an example and answer to you question. You are getting such thoughts because at some point you are lacking behind. Overcome this yourself. Nobody can change your decision until you really mean it.

2013-08-31 09:37:03 -0500 answered a question what is meditation?

When you turn your head from horizon to horizon your eyes see a vast space in which all the things of the earth and of the sky appear. But this space is always limited where the earth meets the sky. The space in the mind is so small. In this little space all our activities seem to take place: the daily living and the hidden struggles with contradictory desires and motives. In this little space the mind seeks freedom, and so it is always a prisoner of itself. Meditation is the ending of this little space. To us, action is bringing about order in this little space of the mind. But there is another action which is not putting order in this little space. Meditation is action which comes when the mind has lost its little space. This vast space which the mind, the I, cannot reach, is silence. The mind can never be silent within itself; it is silent only within the vast space which thought cannot touch. Out of this silence there is action which is not of thought. Meditation is this silence.

2013-08-31 09:13:15 -0500 answered a question Beliefs about the gurus

Sat Nam, Well, As the world wanted a human , a living body to lead them to light; the first ten gurus were Humans. They were the angels sent by the almighty in the form of humans to take the world on the right path. But, then the question raised that for how many more years will we keep on accepting humans as Guru's ? They will keep changing. So,Guru Gobind Singh ji had the solution. He made Guru Granth Sahib our Guru. The Guru which will never change and forbade us to accept any human as Guru. I hope this was helpful.

2013-08-31 02:38:55 -0500 answered a question Torturelationship

Dear anonymous,

Sorry, but I don't think your question needs an answer. Gurbani doesn't do any kind of 'hocus-focus' ! Sikhism doesn't even believe in it. You're just getting the fruit of what you did in your past life. Everybody does. This is what we call karm. This is life. Life isn't a bed of roses. You cant be happy all the time. You have to face sorrow and happiness. I would say that grow up and find the solution yourself. You know about your life more than all of us. Solution wont come to you. You will have to find it. I hope this was helpful and a bit inspiring.

P.S. I apologize if you think I am rude but , that's the truth. the bitter truth of life which many of us don't want to face.

Sat Nam!

I understand your problem. Guru will help you jio! Instead of obsessing over that girl, keep yourself busy with other things. Dont stop doing banis. They are the solution to every problem. Listening to kirtan most of the time can help. Kirtan refreshes your mind. Be in god's grace. Everything will be fine.

P.S. I hope this was helpful and an easy method to opt.
