it is mentioned right in the beggining of jajapi saheb ' hukami uttam neech, hukam likh sukh dukh paiye'.

gurbani says, gursikh, take your mind away from the worries of future and well beings of your family and focus it on guru updesh. when your mind is filled up with guru updesh, then. only inner transformation will occur. when inner transformation (when u hear anhadnaad)occurs then only your spiritul journey will start.

gurbani recommends, that. mind has to be detached from the occupation of veechar-maya to attain the fastest results. simran should be done slowly- in sahej.

nis din maya karane prani dolat nit, kotan mein nanak kou, narayan jeh chit.

har har har japeeye intar liv laye, kil bikh utarey sudh hoye, sadhu sarnaye, sunat japat har naam jas, taan ki dur balayein, mahaa mantar nanak kahe har ke gun gaye.

jeenan intar har har preet hai, te jan sughar syane raam raje.

in nutshell, is our conscentious mind occupied in maya or in desire to meet wahe guru jee. if the naswer is wahe guru jee, results are very quick.

the most unfortunate part of sikhism is, that, we are just singing and reading gurbani. anyone, who, goes deeper to understand and implement the teachings and lifestyle, as per gurbani, will find the answers and progress within the self. ASA KI VAAR is full of spiritual gyan. it is clarified, in asa ki vaar, that, there is nothing pure in the material world, except THE SHABAD/NAAM.It doesnot mean, that, one should eat meat, but, if there are traces of meat in precooked food, and if u have no other alternative, it is fine.it is unintentional act.
