It's my mothers birthday soon and I want to do Kirtan in the gurdwara with my guitar. Please can you give me some shabads that I could sing that include a mothers importanance. Thank you ji :)

Fateh. I'm 16 and I've always been into music and singing as I have a huge passion for it. I'm a female and wear a dastar and on the path of sikhi. I've been practising sikhi since I was 4 and I've always worn my dastar since that age. I sing a lot of gurbani and do my paath. I have always written poetry and raps and performed them. But my raps are about motivational things or life experiences and I don't use any bad language or profanity as I don't swear. I just like to get out my thoughts and feelings. I want to start sharing my music on the internet and create some tracks. Can I do this? I already get a lot of hate from the Sikh community for it even though I'm doing nothing wrong and I still want to carry on for my benefit because it makes me happy and inspires others and my music helps others because they can relate. I also sing my own version of western mainstream songs that are again not rude or have bad messages and I want to share these also and get into music. Please tell me if this is okay to do so because I don't want to be doing something wrong. And If I'm not doing anything wrong I don't want to be influenced by people that don't accept what I'm doing and make me think I shouldn't be singing or rapping. I want to portray that Sikh girls wearing dastars can shine and I really want to represent.

I am a kaur and I wear a dastar. And I'm 16. I've recently become very good friends with a singh who lives near me. He and his family are very much into sikhi. Our paths are very similar. We call each other sister and brother and he is 16 too. We get along so well and we have just bonded as really good friends and we hang out and chill. He encourages me to be a better sikh and I have been blessed by guru ji to have him there. I have a worried feeling in my heart that I'm doing something wrong. There's so much stigma with boys and girls being friends each other. Both of our families know we are good friends and none of our families mind. But I still feel like I'm doing something wrong as my mum always says to not become too close and to watch what happens. I know she acts chill about it but sometimes she makes me feel like im doing something wrong. We talk a lot about sikhi and just life in genera and I don't like him in that way at all. Waheguru!! I'm only 16!! And to be honest, I don't get along with most girls these days because I don't fit in with them. He plays tabla and I play vaja and we want to sing Kirtan together. His family and himself have invited me to his house to play Kirtan and record some Kirtan but I feel like I shouldn't and I feel like it's wrong to go. Maharaj has blessed with an amazing friend and it would be so much easier if we were the same gender. I'm always scared of swing sangat in public when we chill together because of assumptions. We're scared of people talking because the community is so small. What do I do????

Im very confused about turban shastars and what each one is called and what they represent and what they're purpose is. For example the triangle chainmail, what is the proper name and purpose of it. What is the purpose of a chand tora, mala, chakar, mini swords, tora and accessories and many more there are that I have no idea about, I don't want to wear them and not have any knowledge of them. i came across this waheguru simran by bhai joginder singh. and i really want to learn it and play it myself. is this a composition of naam simran and multiple different verses from different gurbani? also please can someone write out all of the lyrics, i am having quite a lot of trouble trying to find them out. thank you so so much sangat ji :)

what is first ghar? and do you know the notations for raag maajh? i want to sing this shabad with the guitar, im not sure if raags can be incorporated with the guitar

i play the guitar and the vaja. however ive found the guitar to be very soothing when i sing gurbani with it. i have always been frustrated with the art and concept about raags. i still cant get my head around it and i know that with each raag comes a different mood however i just sing the gurbani in any tune or melody that i like . Is my gurbani invalid if i sing without raag. is it wrong? is singing kirtan with the guitar wrong? can i sing gurbani without raag? can someon please try and make me understaa raag also? how many are there
