Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh My boyfriend and I really love each but he lives in the UK and I live in the US. Both of our parents know that we are in a relationship and his parents hsve agreed for this relationship. My parents, however, say that if I want to get married to him, I can but I can't talk to my parents ever again. My boyfriend and I are both Amritdhari and so are our parents. My boyfriend, his parents, and I don't believe in the caste system but my parents do. Technically, he is identified as Chamar and technically I can be identified as Jatt. My parents say it's shameful for me to marry someone so lowly. They say he might be good but his "clan" is full of drug users however that is false. My parent's aren't ready to listen to me. His parents want to talk to my parents but I haven't been able to talk to my parents about this. My parents say they are ashamed of me because I found my own potential- husband and not my parents. Plus, they say he is too far and they don't know much about him. How can I convince my parents to talk to his parents. My dad told me to choose between him and my boyfriend.
