I am wondering when gurbani refers to Truth- example in JapJi sahib "God was the Truth in the beginning and has been so in all the ages." What does the word truth mean there? Is it simply the same as the english translation of truth?

Sat is Universal Truth. There are three kinds of truth. Personal truth, i.e., it's true for me but not for you; circumstantial truth, i.e. it's true under these circumstances (e.g., in this place or at that time;) and Universal Truth, i.e. it's always true for everyone under all circumstances. Truth is everything - Prakriti and Purusha, the One in all it's forms (maya.) Everything.
