Thats in your daily actions in how you treat people in school, in being an honest and hard-working person, in being compassionate and brave and responsible for your actions. Sikhism isn't just about things like giving up meat- remember the teachings of the Gurus. If you haven't already done this, you can read about the history of Sikhism and the reasons for what we do. I agree with the answer by the person before me that doing Simran will be greatly beneficial. I am really happy for you that you are interested in this path and you are making such a big effort.

You can start doing Simran everyday, doing Simran is very powerful. You can do it while travelling, while bathing, or doing any chores. Once you start doing Simran obviously you will feel yourself near to WaheGuru.
