I read somewhere, words from gurbani. "become the dust of feet of all and then you may come to me" What does it mean? Does it mean that I should be a slave to everybody and every circumstance in life?

From what i understand it means in your mind become the dust of feet of all. you dont have to say hey i am the dust of ur feet to someone. Because its not humble actually(when u say stuff like that ur pleasing the person) a spiritual person doesn't care about pleasing people he or she does everything that pleases god, and a spiritual person feels god in their heart. And when u become the dust of feet of all (ie do sewa, be humble) the validation comes from the god present within urself. doing this sets u free when u live. Becausr ur absorbed within ur own presence and god's and u don't really care anymore about whether someone is good or evil.

Extreme situations aside. Most of the daily issues we have it is sensible to become the dust of feet of all. Because ur free from them. It builds character.

basically becoming the dust of feet of all, eradicates selfishness from within,

forexample I am going to give you a simple situation, because i am a student I will give examples from what I see in my life. a lot of high scoring people, in their minds think that they are superior to others. this robs them the opportunity to learn from others. becoming the dust of feet of all is like, in your mind, you don't really think of yourself as anything superior. in your mind u see everyone as one. when you do this you don't carry the burden of your ego anymore, and surprise surprise people like you more. in my mind I was like the dust of feet of most people at school not at home (lol because still i am a human and imperfect)

people helped me so much, it was insane. i recieved help from random sources people were kind to me.

in harder situations it becomes difficult, but doing meditation keeps your mind clear so you make better decisions. so i don't really know your situation but yes for the most part become the dust of feet of all, because carrying the burden of ego is painful

You can't do it yourself. It's something that happens. When you experience the presence of the One, your dasm duaar opens. You feel that you are very tiny... a dust mote... and that the universe is immense. That understanding (standing under) makes you experience your smallness all the time. As you serve everyone a great ecstasy and joy arises within you.

What Guru Ji means is that you cannot bring your big, fat ego into the presence of the Infinite. When your ego lets go and you become soft like wax and small like a grain of dust, then you feel the presence of God and Guru at all times, everywhere.
