was just wondering if the experiences during bani are there because sensitive people, have senses that are more alert to everything, (including the inner self), that is why they even seek for the inner truth.

ie the more sensitive you are the more likely you will want to give your head to guru. compared to a cold person

ie I also feel that, to go even deeper, you become more and more sensitive, (sometimes a bit frightening).

so sensitivity must be a trait that one needs.?

Yes. your sensory sensitivity allows you to connect to others and to the subtle energies that surround us. As we evolve as human beings we all need to increase our sensory awareness. In order not to get overwhelmed or "blown away" by the energies you experience, you must have a very strong foundation in your daily sadhana as well as a strong nervous system. That will allow you to remain steady and clear and in chardi kala even though you are having powerful experiences.
