I asked my mother one time what god is. she said it is the constant reminder that we are gonna die. she said god is death. Which we fear, so we pray because it is the hardest fact to swallow. This pretty much makes me feel broken. please guys explain what god is in a positive light. How do we fall in love with god? How can we for sure know he exists?
Tysm :) basically the only reason i feel broken about is because she said god is death, which she implied that there is nothing beyond that. It's just death all of the other stuff is there to console our mind because death is such a hard fact to swallow. yes i actually listen to waheguru simian on my phone, and try not to think of anything. I want to fall in love with waheguru so much so that i won't really have anything else affect me that much. You know that shabad anand paya meri maye statguru mein paya. The part where it says (satguru mein paya man vajeiyan vadhaiyan) That part kinda makes me happy sad because i believe that is how it must be to feel god. Happy sad because i wanna feel that bliss so bad, it makes me a little teary eyed.

Waheguru is the destroyer and creator. In this illusion we think that we will never depart. I was told the day we forget kal (death) we forget Waheguru who is Akal (beyond death).
Why does it make you feel broken ?
The point of this human life is to serve Waheguru and merge back in. Death is just a reminder to us that one day we have to leave this body, so we know the value of this life and do good deeds.
Without night we won't realise the value of the day. Without darkness we won't realise the value of light.
Sri Jaap Sahib is amazing, Guru Ji tells us many virtues of Waheguru.
Gobinday, one who sustains us, Mukhunday, one who liberates us, Udharay, one who uplifts us, Aparay, who is infinite, Hariung, who does everything, Kariung, for which grace everything is done, Nirnaamay, nameless, desireless, Akaame, is by itself.
Hariung also means destoryer and Kariung creator
This can also means Waheguru destorys are kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankaar
Agya bhai Akal ki tabhi chalayo Panth. Sabh Sikhan ko hukam hai Guru manyo Granth. Guru Granth Ji manyo pargat Guran ki deh. Jo Prabhu ko milbo chahe khoj shabad mein le. Raj karega Khalsa aqi rahei na koe ,Khwar hoe sabh milange bache sharan jo hoe."
"Under orders of the Immortal Being, the Panth was created. All Sikhs are enjoined to accept the Granth as their Guru.
Consider the Guru Granth as an embodiment of the Gurus.Those who want to meet God, can find Him in its hymns. The pure shall rule, and the impure will be no more, Those separated will unite and all the devotees of the Guru shall be saved."
Guru Gobind Singh Ji says if you want to meet God, search him in the Shabad. Read Gurbani with love and faith, contemplate Gurbani and implement Gurbani in your life.
If you want to know if Waheguru exist, best thing is to experience Guru Ji and Waheguru by reciting his name.

Waheguru is death, in Guru Gobind Singh Ji Shabad Satgur calls him Maha Kal (the greatest death). Will link some Shabads referring to Waheguru Ji as death.
What is death? Who dies?
The realization of God is the death of the ego as prime motivator in your life. The death of the self is the realization of God. "I" and "mine" become Thee and Thine. Remember the sakhi about Guru Nanak Dev Ji? "Tera, tera, tera."
She basically said god equals death simply that which makes me :/ Everything else is false but i dont believe that god is just death. ^and true thr ego is diminished (dies) when you realize god. (I will read it because i dont know the story)
