This might seem a little mean, but I am utterly annoyed with all my siblings and one of my cousin's. All they do is make noise... while playing, eating, Always... This makes it hard for me to focus on Paath and Simran. I try to stay away but sadly, without a license, I am confined to a single bedroom where I try to work. How can I learn to keep calm in such situations? (They are really loud, they make my ears hurt and I am not sensitive to normal high sounds). Also my cousin lives with me.

They never listen to me, nor my parents. They always complain on minor issues. They make it hard for me to work in general and the only time I am in total peace is when I am without them. That could mean, going to the Gurdwara, store, or school. THEY NEVER LISTEN AND THEY CONTINUESLY MISBEHAVE. Currently my dad is sleeping because he didn't sleep all night and still went to work. My brother is screaming upstairs. My sister is literally yelling and she is only a couple of feet away from my dad

My cousin hates studying/working so he always complains and throws his books. Help, how can I escape this. I can't focus on Gurbani, it is nearly impossible, and I can't leave home because I don't have a license

As an Teenager I can also Understand your condition but First of all,be calm and relaxed.Don't be annoyed and loose yourself to Anger. It's Very easy to say than to do but try theese steps:

1) I hope you do Simran at Amritvela. They must be slept at that time,so try to do more and more Simran And Paath AT Amritvela and If you are doing it when they are awake,Put on headphones in your ears, play Paath and Simran or Kirtan and listen to it . Alongside Repeat side by side when you are listening.

2) Love and devotion can do anything, don't yell at them. Guru Granth Sahib Ji Says "Fareed, Do Not Turn Around And Strike Those Who Strike You With Their Fists.Kiss Their Feet and Return To Your Own Home. ||7||" (Ang 1378,Salok Sheikh Farid Ke)

So,don't loose your calm and teach them, ask them with love to remain quite or normal.Ask them that what if someone disturbs you and yells if you are doing something Important.Teach them about Sikhi and tell them stories about Gurus and Brave Sikhs (Sahibzaade,Baba Banda Singh Bahadur,Baba Deep Singh etc.)

3)Pray To God that God Please If you have given me an oppurtunity to Do Paath And Simran,So Please help me and don't take my test.Guru Ji Help me and let me focus So I Can Be A True Gursikh Of Yours.

Hope it works. I know speaking is much more easier but just try to do theese.Gursikhs here can give more genuine and suitable answers.

Forgive me if I have said something that hurts you.

Sometimes, you can only be so loving. Some people just do not understand love, logic, or reason. The first time, I suggest finding something to keep them busy and productive. Not TV, but something productive, school work, prayers, chores, sports.... The second time, tell them sternly to please be quiet. Don't yell, mature adults don't yell and get angry, that just adds to the chaos. Be kind and respectful, but strong and serious. The third time, if your parents are okay with it. Give them a little smack. Don't actually hurt them, but just a little tap to embarrass them. Your cousin shouldn't be throwing things either, if he is going to be treated like a person and not a savage, he should behave like a person. Try discussing the behaviour of some younger Sikh heroes with him. Tell him that successful people, who truly serve God, work and study hard. You can also try to bring out his competitive nature. I use to have my younger cousins compete in sports and school work. They all worked way harder and were way nicer to me.
