I am a bit confused...

I have done research and talked to people about this but I'm still undecided on the answer. So in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji it always says that by great good fortune we'll meet god because everything that is predestined will happen. I feel like because everything is god's and we as humans have nothing, that free will is god's and god's only.

Say we do have free will. God would have the knowledge of what would happen in the end that we've caused based off of our free will. Thus, there is only one outcome that will happen, that is already known to god, which means it is already set to happen, or a predestined future (as well as past).

Today a little fly (whose wings were broken) was walking by me and I allowed it to walk on my hands and arms, so I took a hukham online which said that it wouldn't live long but can be liberated through the naam of Har. So I sang Har Har Har to it and did Mul Mantar and Gurmantar. It wasn't my free will to do this because it will be liberated to Sach Khand, and I have no ability to liberate anything, it is all of god's endless supply of power and grandeur. That fly put its two front arms/hands together when I sang the Gurmantar (and after it as well) that I believe was it in a praying position.

So please inform me maybe with some gurbani quotesor just your own explanations to whether we have free will or not.

Akaaaaaaal!

Guruka, I watched the video, but no gurbani quotes back up what you are saying as far as I can see. This quote seems to tell it,“By one’s own actions, nothing can be done; destiny was pre-determined from the very beginning. By great good fortune, I meet my God, and then all pain of separation departs” (Guru Arjan Dev Ji, p.135). See? It is all Gods.

Yes, "By one’s own actions, nothing can be done..." and 33rd pauri of Japji... "akhan jor..." It is true you can't DO anything... Sat Kartar does everything. BUT as a human being, how do you differ from an animal? You are consciously conscious that you have a consciousness. You can make choices.
