I know Guru Sahib Ji is closer to you then your hand but I feel so distant from MahrajJi it kinda hurts. I'm not sure what to do in order to feel closer to GuruJi, I don't know what to do? I keep wanting to go to Simran Jap at the Gurdwara in the mornings but I can't wake up in the morning then just feel guilty about it. Now I feel really empty and disconnected. I want to love WaheGuruJi Akal Purakh and eventually want to take Amrit but I can't even connect with the One that created us. I'm a sinner and feel hopeless, if anyone can share some advice or experience, I would really appreciate it WJKK WJKF Apologies if I said anything wrong

Okay, I completely understand how you feel. One thing that you know is that God is also around you, but you simply can't experience that right now. It is different from experiencing God than it is from believing God's around you. How you get closer to Guru Ji is so simple: love. When you remain in that perpetual state of bliss (Anand), you gain a deep desire to love those around you as they are Guru Ji themselves. To first feel closer you must open yourself up. There are other ways to feel closer and they all come by His grace. Working hard throughout the day, watching how you speak and caring about others is the way. When He sees this, which he continually does, he becomes proud of you. He deems you worthy of remembering him because you act in the way he wants you. Remember dharma is the first step of enlightenment. When you wake up and don't pray, don't look back. Each breath is new, each second is a gift to experience him. You can either feel giulty throughout the day or you can tell him how you feel. YOU CAN ASK GOD TO WAKE YOU UP IN THE MORNING. HE WILL DO IT.

Your soul wants to connect to waheguru, you are already on that path in this janam , this is wahegurus mehar, just do paath when ever u can , listen to waheguru simran online, leave rest to waheguru. From the first time I started just thinking about waheguru it took me almost 20 years to start doing paath and naam simran. Sometimes I think why it took me so long , may be waheguru knows it. Just don't give up on naam and simran , cuz it's tough to do

I was very close to God from when I can remember and He has blessed me many times even now. However, in this recent break up of my marriage, God saved me from this man but, somehow, I got disconnected or so I feel very empty. I pray to Waheguru ji when able to do so and listen to kirtan but, i feel empty. Its not a sadness empty or a loneliness empty - just empty - numb. How do I fill this emptiness? I used to go to the gurudwara but, then upon listening to the paat, because it was so beautiful and I know only God is the way, i would cry from inside. I would feel embarassed because I was only one crying. i ask God for help and He always helps and tells me in dreams but, i feel disconnected. What can I do?

It’s okay to cry when you are doing prayers: http://answers.sikhnet.com/question/1746/crying-when-im-doing-path/ I have cried a lot at the gurdwara. Sure people look, but there's nothing to be embarrassed about. If someone asks just say its because the Gurbani is so beautiful.

Keep doing prayers, simran, etc. and you will feel that connection again. Personally for me, when I moved from feeling empty to connected with God again, I went on vacation. I got away from the surroundings i was in, and i went to visit my very religious extended family. I spent three weeks

visiting gurdwaras with them, listening to kathas, and learning from them. I learned how to do simran, i spent time with people who loved me and reminded me what that felt like. I met gurmukhs who had achieved mukhti and I learned that it was possible for me too. They encouraged and supported me

so it is possible to get over this- it's temporary and it might feel like forever (i felt empty for many many months, partly due to depression) but its not going to be forever. You'll get that connection again.

sometimes its about surroundings, or sangat, or support. Those things make a big difference.
