I'm a new sikh...and my mother doesn't want be to be sikh, but I've addressed that before and that's not my question. Well I currently am preparing for amrit within the next 5-10 years, and I currently cannot keep kesh, or any of the five K's for that matter. But I do currently meditate and do nitnem. I cannot do my five K's because my mother will not allow it. I feel bad I cannot live as the guru said to, and in a nutshell my question is - "is it okay for nlw that I cannot keep my five K's?"

The answer is..

God is super kind always.

He loves u for the fact that u care for the reality called GOD. Thats the reason u wanna walk a path.

That the path is sikhi is a different question.

Start practicing being honest and compassionate. Try not to lie. The moment u start doing away from vices, your journey will start.

If u find it difficult still, surprisingly God is and shall always remain kind.
