Looking at the question from a different side:

Why is it difficult for anyone to prove to somebody else that there is GOD.

Any other thing in this world ...any other thing ....we'll definitely find a way to prove it (our intelligence, resources, knowledge will come to our help)

Why is it then with proving anything about GOD nothing works.???

  1. Hell really, there is no such thing
  2. You can't convert someone into your faith, even siblings
  3. A baby can die by mistake
  4. Now pain, is it really pain, ex.Shaheeds, but do they feel it, or what?, pain is NOT KARMA, pain is a really confusing topic, what is the idea of pain, if one gets pain, does it affect them
  5. Even if he is an Atheist, I think he should still keep his Kesh, only for the reason that he can prove that he is not a Sikh for the Kesh problem
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Here's what I did with a child who asked me the same question recently. I said "Are you breathing?" She replied "yes!" I said, "Okay, then stop breathing." She took a big inhale and puffed out her cheeks. When she exhaled, I said "So who is breathing? Not you!

Dear Amandeep, The Question of 'Existence of God' has been asked by human beings right from inception and I feel it has not been awnswered as yet. If we go through the Gurbani, it also says that it is not possible to define and put limits on God. The basic thing to understand is about the concept of GOD. Do we think of Him as a human being, or a Power. You can read the Vedas and all other relgous books but this question remains un awnsered. As they say existence of GOD is a matter of belief and faith. If we think of religion as any other scientific discipline and try to find explanation and awnsers to the various phenomenon we observe, we will not get the awnsers. Even in the scientific world, the scientists are not able to give all the awnsers to the natures phenomenon because there is so much that they do not know. What is more important is that a person should be a good human being. Belief in GOD helps one to be a good human being. Therefore, so long a person is a good human beng it is immaterial whether he believes in the existence of GOD or not.

There is another story (not a Sikhi saakhi) about a barber telling his customer he is atheist because people are suffering, dying etc. and God does nothing. So there is no merciful God. The customer goes out, then comes back. He says that barbers don't exist, for I saw some homeless people outside, unclean and with bad unruly hair. The barber said, this is untrue, we are all barbers here, those people don't come to us. The customer replied, that is true, people don't come to the merciful God who is the Truth, that is why they suffer and make others suffer too.

Firstly atheists don't go to hell. There is no hell. Hell is when you are living in Falsehood.

Anyway his every breath, he is remembering God. Only his mind is denying God. Let him do what he wants to. Let him be a nice person, Truthful, Hard worker, honest and helping community selflessly, he will be fine. He will find faith.

For those who believe in god there is no need to prove him. For those who do not believe in god it is not worth trying.

Try reading the book Baba Naudh Singh by Bhai Veer Singh Jee .... the protagnist is Baba Naudh Singh (a devout sikh ...exemplary). Somewhere in the middle of the book, he comes across this athiest lawyer. Read for yourself how beautifully the author has covered the converstions between the two .... may this be helpful to you
