Meet! This does not mean, "stay away from goodness." Nature is made up of three things, three polarities. To remain free from something does not mean to stay away from things. How would you live? To remain free is to be able to see and be flexible between ALL polarities. Please do not take Gurbani so literally, and read the entire pauri and derive the meaning that way. Read it over and over again and the meaning will come clearer each time. I believe this is referring to the nature of ascetics, who live alone in forests in their search for Happiness.
