What do Sikhs believe about the gurus?

Are they normal humans who were wise and had a revelation? Or were they chosen by God in some way to be special?

Are the gurus venerated in any way? What is their authority?

Thank you.

Sat Nam, Well, As the world wanted a human , a living body to lead them to light; the first ten gurus were Humans. They were the angels sent by the almighty in the form of humans to take the world on the right path. But, then the question raised that for how many more years will we keep on accepting humans as Guru's ? They will keep changing. So,Guru Gobind Singh ji had the solution. He made Guru Granth Sahib our Guru. The Guru which will never change and forbade us to accept any human as Guru. I hope this was helpful.
