Can I (a Hindu) wear a kara?
I was wearing a steel kara (I get skin allergies to iron) for many months to symbolize unity of god, unity of all living souls (people, animals, bugs, trees, etc) and the never ending circle of karma. A few weeks ago though I took it off because I couldn't find proof anywhere that other Hindus wore it as well. I was afraid I was causing insult. I don't mean insult to anyone! Unfortunately, I have felt like there's been a part of me missing since I removed it. Is it ok for me, a Hindu, to wear it for the reasons I stated?
there is nothing wrong with wearing a Kara... just remember the responsibility that comes with wearing one... they are your handcuffs to god and when doing anything with your hands look at your Kara think are these hands doing anything wrong, hurtful, violent etc.
