WHAT IS GOD ?

Do we as humans really understand the depths of life? From the start humans have had the same emotions that we have now, knowing that how can you be positive that we won't take the same actions to achieve what we want in today's date. The Earth has a divided population, and each have our own perceptions of God. Each religion which still has not proved to be completely truth, because there is no truth except what we want to believe.

We humans try to worship something, we simply are not even close to understanding. And yet we praise the lord, ask for forgiveness, thank God, ask for materialistic things, ask for a better life etc. Some people's prayers are answered and some people's are not. Why is this? Why is life unfair? Does this mean God listens to some and not others. These questions only come up when you put God in a form which is very human like. So we interact with God in the same way humans interact with humans.

There was a tribe in an unknown forest which did not have any contact with the outside world. A fighter jet pilot came and crashed down into the forest, and the tribe started to worship this fighter jet pilot giving him the same position as a God.

This story tell us a lot about the origins of human ideologies. It could be a possibility that God is nowhere near what we think it is. As far as I know, God is a divine energy that runs through every single thing in the universe as far as humans know. Its the "ghost behind the machine". This is the only reasonable answer that could be used because the rest of the happenings on earth that we tend to believe are miracles or such, can simply be explained by science and math.

Hi :)

"Each religion which still has not proved to be completely truth " Really? Try reading about Sikhism.

"Some people's prayers are answered and some people's are not. Why is this? Why is life unfair? " Nope, it is not unfair. It is totally fair. It is called Karma. You get what kind of actions you have performed.

" These questions only come up when you put God in a form which is very human like" But God is not a person my dear. These questions come up when you reduce the power of God soooo low and call a human.

"This story tell us a lot about the origins of human ideologies. "

Agree! Humans build alot of misconceptions that even I normally think of. But I do not feel God is the one. We still have belongings of our Gurus saved. It tells you they did come on Earth. The Guru Granth Sahib ji is written by them and it is absolutely beautiful. There is something more powerful going on then the jet crash.

"God is a divine energy that runs through every single thing in the universe as far as humans know" It is true. Read Japji Sahib it talks about that.

It is about Karam. Everything happens to us is because of Karam

Someone: The reason why people in Africa, Asia or anywhere else live in poverty is nothing to do with faith. We live in a world of greed, corruption, wealth monopoly and many other reasons. We equally live in a world where morality and ethics rarely exist anymore.

I think you have raised some very important issues and ones humans ask themselves every day.

I am Muslim and not Sikh so I am not in a position to really speak with any authority from a Sikh perspective. I take a more pragmatic view of God. I believe in One God who is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing, and nothing is comparable to Him. I place all my trust and faith in God. I believe God answers your prayers/worship when you are genuine and place your trust in him and only He knows what is in your heart. In the same way that I have read in the Sikh scriptures that, God reveals and manifests through all in the universe, but no finite form can be worshipped as God, who is infinite.

As a Muslim, when I speak to non-Muslims who are fixed in their views, they often allege that God in Islam is a stern and cruel God who demands to be obeyed fully and is not loving and kind. Nothing could be further from the truth than this allegation. It is enough to know that, with the exception of one, each of the 114 chapters of the Qur'an begins with the verse " In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate". In one of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we are told that “ God is more loving and kind than a mother to her dear child”.

In my view, all faiths have their own unique way of worshiping God and I would never go out of my way to violate someone else's dignity by criticising or belittling their faith or view of God as I believe we all believe in God and have different ways of praying to him.

My dear, i can not describe god, although i can answer your question but in a different way.

see, all the humans have different conceptions of god and they have created one more god.

this god is like their ragis or their gurus in hinduism

this god gives them different solutions of their problems only to the officers or ragis of his.

their is this god, who is known by all humans completely.

their is clearly some one who created this universe, but apparently we dont know anything about him.

but he did give us the guide to our lives which are the holy books.

you dont really have to believe in "god", just believe that there is some one who created us and apparently has his eyes on us

read guru granth sahib ji. that is the true guide to life.

there also a line it that states that

anyone who tries to describe god, shall be punished.

but clearly asking this question is not a sin.
