radiant halo behind their head, means the ones who are connected with nature their mind isn’t affected by grief even if their life is full of grief, Whenever they remember their creator happiness is produced in their mind, worry anxiety and arrogant pride dies. That person’s happiness cannot be compared even to the most richest man. He has illuminating sun that provides cool shade every time on his mind. Nanak: whatever he puts effort in becomes successful.

The artist is attempting to show the radiance, the light that emanates from beings of God. This is commonly called a "halo" and is a depiction of the light surrounding the head.
