Can one really become immortal literally ?

The physical body is not immortal by design. That's just fine. We only lease these vehicles anyway. One already is immortal. What happens is that one experiences that immortality.
ਨਹ ਕੋ ਮੂਆ ਨ ਮਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ (885-16, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) nah ko moo-aa na marnai jog. No one dies; no one is capable of dying. ਨਹ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੋਗੁ ॥3॥ (885-16, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) nah binsai abhinaasee hog. ||3|| The soul does not perish; it is imperishable. ||3|| ਜੋ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਸੋ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ (885-17, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) jo ih jaanhu so ih naahi. That which is known, does not exist. ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰੇ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ (885-17, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) jaananhaaray ka-o bal jaa-o. I am a sacrifice to the one who knows this. ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥ (885-17, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) kaho naanak gur bharam chukaa-i-aa. Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt. ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥4॥10॥ (885-18, ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਮਃ 5) naa ko-ee marai na aavai jaa-i-aa. No one dies; no one comes or goes. ||4||10||
Everybody and everything is immortal because Gurbani says "Sabh Gobind hai Sabh Gobind hai Gobind bin nahi koi " means "Everything is God Everything is God there is nothing except God " and you know God or Soul is "Ajooni" as well as "immortal".What this line means is that the person who drinks the amrit of Waheguru's name or have the taste of chanting of Waheguru's name becomes Self realized or God realized.What he experiences by the continuous chanting of Waheguru's name that he is a soul or God not this body which is made up of five elements.
