There are so many mentions of death in our Gurbani

e.g.

https://www.sikhnet.com/news/concept-...

If we keep thinking about death / impending doom, how can we live life fully ?

We accept this because this is Gurbani so no one questions

But If I say this to someone that "You are going to die soon, Life is short etc" he will get offended and might hit me back or criticize me that you are so negative look at the positive side of life .

So how can we progress in life if every shabad reminds us of death ?

Death is present in every moment. Death is our constant companion. All creatures are busy being born, feeding, procreating and dying. As humans, we tend to avoid thinking about death. This comes from fear. Most humans fear death because we do not identify with our soul, but rather with our mind. But Guruji understands that death is fully a part of life and that: "All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses, and to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier. Has any one supposed it lucky to be born? I hasten to inform him or her it is just as lucky to die, and I know it." (Walt Whitman)

So, Gurbani is neither negative nor positive. It is neutral. It is only our own attachments that make it seem negative.

I understand your position, for many people it is difficult to always hear about death, and this often leads to negativity and confused thoughts. You could think about this proverbio "Live like you should die tomorrow, and think like you never have to die". In the sense that if you are aware of dying soon you will not tend to evil, and thinking as if you should never die you can think of life projects for you and children.
