"ਹੁਕਮਿ (Command) ਰਜਾਈ (Content) ਚਲਣਾ (walk/carry on) ਨਾਨਕ(Nanak) ਲਿਖਿਆ (writes) ਨਾਲਿ (with) ॥੧॥ "

Means be content with what is happening to you , whether its good bad , whether you achieve success or failure is all part of God's command.

Why you should ? Because If you don't you get dragged into worldly matters,

I am happy because I am rich today I am sad because I am poor tomorrow etc.

  • One who is not content, he is always busy in thinking about things he can't control.
  • One who is always busy in thinking about things he can't control, Doesn't know all things in life are of no use that is until he is on deathbed.
  • One who Doesn't know all things in life are of no use, is always focused on collecting these things.
  • One who is always focused on collecting these things, wastes his precious time.
  • One who wastes his precious time, drifts further away from truth.
  • One who drifts further away from truth, is stuck is viscous cycle of Sadness and misery and doesn't know how to get better.
